The name of our guide is Nguyen Bach.
He is a fantastic guide and knows his way around. Our trip to Hanoi was more wonderful than we could have imagined. Many thanks for your input on restaurants to visit, the Water Puppet Show ( all of which we did ), and I bought coffee from the shop you mentioned in your email. I thought their coffee was better than Starbucks! Unfortunately, we missed seeing Uncle Ho because we arrived during a big Vietnamese holiday. The highlight for Bill was the private interview our guide arranged with his uncle who was a missile operator in Hanoi from '66 thru '68. Bill had 88 Sams shot at him when he was there. I have great pics from that meeting and the last one is of the two men shaking hands. I was dumbfounded by their traffic rules --- there are none! Can't imagine why I didn't see more than just 2 minor accidents! We even saw a live waterbufflo being carried on the back of a moter bike with 2 riders, for heaven sakes!! Our hotels were great, loved the food, and the Vietnamese people were sweet and kind. In all a very good trip.
Hope all went well getting the boys settled into their new school. Tell your Mom and Carol" Hello" for me.
Much Love to all,
Nan
