Next we will watch a traditional Vietnamese water puppet, a uniquely North Vietnamese art form celebrating rural life and folklore for over 1,000 years. End of the first day with a Welcome dinner at local restaurant.

Continue to the Museum of Ethnology, where we'll learn about the fascinating cultural diversity of this ancient land.

enjoy the rest of day at your leisure.

Tip:
If you're mainly interested in the Vietnam war (we had thousand years in war), you can choose visiting Vietnam Military Museum or Vietnam History Museum instead of Temple of Literature.

Please note:

After finish city tour, back to your hotel to take a short rest before enjoy a Street Food on Foot tour with your guide. Food on Foot Tour will give you an unique experience to try the foods of the local Hanoi people, we ensure the food is handled hygienically and provide a comfortable venue for the tastings. The benefit also goes back to the vendors or restaurants/ families as you buy directly from them.

Upon arrival you will be welcomed aboard your traditional junk; designed in the same style as those that have sailed the bay for 100’s of years. Begin a relaxing and unforgettable cruise around the breathtaking and unique limestone karsts and islets. A delicious fresh seafood lunch will be served as you cruise this spectacular bay, a UNESCO listed site.  After lunch you will explore some of Halong Bay's fishing village by bamboo boat or kayaking based on your preference. And then reach on the top of Soi Sim beach to have a panorama view of Halong Bay.  All activities arranged by the cruise are on a shared basis.

Stop en route at a local workshop to witness the process of incent stick and conical hat making.  Continue to Thien Mu Pagoda, sitting on the riverbank outside the city, this octagonal seven tier stupa has long been regarded as the symbol of Hué and was founded in 1601. It is still a site of Buddhist worship and its huge bell is said to be audible from the city.  Lastly, enjoy a cruise downstream to watch sunset on the Perfume River, named after the tree resins and blossoms it carries on its way to the Pacific.

Most countries in South East Asia require you to obtain a visa. Please check carefully with your travel specialist regarding specific visa requirements for each country you plan to visit as the legislation does change frequently. Thailand offers a free visa on arrival to most nationalities. Other countries including Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar offer a “visa-on-arrival” service which requires you to pay a fee at the airport, or you may prefer to obtain this in advance through the relevant embassy or a visa agent. For visa-on-arrival in Vietnam, you must submit some paperwork before you arrive.

This is an option to get your visa for Vietnam instead of getting visa at the Vietnam consulate in your country.

Recently completed a 13 day tour of Vietnam with Asianway travel and cannot fault the service we received in any way. I was amazed with the prompt replies to emails before leaving Australia and with their highly skilled and friendly employees. Although we normally never travel with organised tours we were very glad we did this time as their guides were extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and Minh in Saigon who went out of her way with advice in a very friendly and enthusiastic manner. All arrangements were spot on and transport always on time. The hotels were good, mostly 4 star, and food was excellent. I thoroughly recommend this travel company to anyone interested in touring Vietnam.
